Marie A. Smyers

Marie Annette (McMahon) Smyers, age 93 of Oakdale, PA, graduated into God's World where there is no more sorrow and no more pain on October 17, 2024. Marie's life began on April 24, 1931, in Imperial, PA, where she was the last living of eight siblings: John (Alfie), Chuck (Nellie), Rita (Alex), Tom (Kathleen), Jim (Carole), Betty (Bob), and Frank. She was the beloved wife of 74 years to Jack Smyers and the adoring mother of the late Jeff Smyers, Maree (Tom) Campbell, and Lisa (Doug) Tennyson. Marie's legacy continued through her grandsons, Ben (Hilary) and Cole (Melissa) Campbell, and Brad and Lucas Tennyson. She found immense pride and joy in her family, treasuring every moment with them and proudly embracing her role as a great-grandmother to Avery, Karsyn, Peyton, and Riley. She often said that her greatest blessings called her "G-me" and she prayed and hoped for God's Best for all relatives and Friends. A born-again Christian, Marie was a spirit-filled member of Clinton Wesleyan Church. She shared the love of Jesus with whom all she met. Marie was a dedicated homemaker and personal assistant in her husband's Chiropractic Practice. She cherished hosting family gatherings, ensuring that there was always plenty of food, laughter, and love to go around. Marie's philosophy of family and togetherness was a gift she instilled deeply in her children. Her everyday quotes, "The good Lord willing and the creek don't rise," or "you're a diamond a Gem or a Pearl, or show me your angel wings "To all praying one day we will all meet again, whom all believe. If I don't see you here, I'll see you up there!" A special note of appreciation goes to the staff at Victorian Manor for their genuine love and care and Three Oaks Hospice for their extraordinary care in Marie's final days.
