Monica Ann Wygonik Ridener Passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022 in the arms of the love of her life, Robert "Ski" Wygonik. She was 72 years old. Preceded in death by her parents Dale and lrmi Polhemus of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Survived by her husband of 17 years, Robert J. "Ski" Wygonik, New Kensington; cousins Ray and Cindy Polhemus, Spokane WA; John & Diane Packard, Spokane WA; Lynn & Marty McNutt, Bellingham, WA; Carl & Cathy Polhemus, Englewood, CO; Evelyn Polhemus, Holdrege, NE; her "brother" Carl & Liza Meyerhuber, Pat Grubbs, Mary Lou Harju, Cheryl Dickey & many others too numerous to remember at this time. Monica graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. She also graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Social Work, certificate in Gerontology in 1986. She was presented 2 citations by the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As "An Outstanding Adult Student" by the Pennsylvania Association for Adult Continuing Education. She was also designated by University of Pittsburgh as a "University Scholar." For 16 years she was the Administrator at Canterbury Retirement Home in Lawrenceville. From there she moved on as the Social Worker at the Brackenridge Salvation Army. Upon final retirement she traveled the nation with "Ski" helping him by dazzeling the guys in the Rail Industry at Trade Shows. She served on the board of the Community Health Clinic, Westmoreland County, New Kensington. She was an Active member of the P.E.O., Chapter R, Philanthropic Educational Organization. A Memorial Mass will be on Wednesday February 2nd at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish - Duncan Ave, Allison Park. MASKS ARE MANDATORY!!!!
