Martin D. Armello

February 28, 1954 - January 29, 2022

Martin Dennis Armello, 67, of Vandergrift, died Saturday, Jan 29, 2022 from complications due to Covid-19 in Allegheny Valley Hospital. Born Feburary 28, 1954, in New Kensington, he was the son of Irene (Tomicek) Armello and the late Frank Armello. A 1972 graduate of Kiski Area High School, Marty was the last surviving owner and operator of Armello's Italian Bakery, a multigenerational Italian bakery located in Vandergrift. Marty enjoyed the thrill of driving his prized Harley Davidson motorcycle and numerous off-road and sport cars that he owned during his lifetime. Marty was proud of his Italian heritage and was a member of many local clubs and fraternal organizations. Some of the organizations he belonged to include; The Italian American Bari Society, The Sons of The American Legion, The Slovak Club of Parks Twp and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Vandergrift, PA. Marty was proceeded in death by his father, Frank Armello; and brother Frank R. Armello, and brother-in-law, Gary Adams. He is survived by his mother; Irene (Tomicek) Armello, sisters; Bonita Armello Adams, Christine Armello (Donald) Emerick, nieces Jennifer, Debbie and Dana Adams and Jessica Emerick; nephews, Jason Emerick and Frank Jacob Armello. Burial will be private and handled by THOMAS M. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 950 Center Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
