Joyce Billetdeaux

September 26, 1934 - January 22, 2022

Billetdeaux, Joyce (Neeb) of Masonic Village Sewickley, formerly of Allison Park and of Natrona Heights, PA died on January 22, 2022 at the age of 87. Born September 26, 1934 in Johnstown, PA the only child of Earl Neeb and Dorothy (Henry). She was 1952 valedictorian of Har-Brack High School in Natrona Heights, PA. She then attended Bucknell University in Lewisburgh, PA where she earned a B.S. in Commerce and Finance. After graduation she married her first husband of 16 years, Bruce McGillivray, and raised three children before beginning a career in Human Resources at PPG Industries in 1972 until she ultimately retired as a Benefits Associate in 1990. Joyce married Adrian Billetdeaux in 1974 and enjoyed nearly 35 years of marriage until his death in 2009. She is survived by her six children and stepchildren: Douglas McGillivray (Susan) of Chester Springs, PA, Gregg McGillivray (Lisa) of Wilmington, DE, Janice MacGillivray (Kathleen) of Canton, MA, Brian Billetdeaux (Janis) of Bonita Springs, FL, Barry Billetdeaux (Chris) of Clarion, PA, and Neal Billetdeaux (Laura) of Manchester, MI. Joyce is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Joyce had a brilliant mind. She was a bridge aficionado and lifelong learner including taking regular adult learning classes at Carnegie Mellon University and attending Chautauqua Institution every summer. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed painting and completing the NYT crossword puzzle daily. She had great appreciation for art, music, culture, and Pittsburgh sports and along with her late husband, Adrian, was a long time patron of multiple local theaters and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as well as a Pittsburgh Penguins season ticket holder. She was a consummate cook, serving a delicious meal every night and hosting frequent dinner parties and bridge tournaments. She was a long-standing member of First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh. Services will be private. The family extends our deepest gratitude to the staff of Masonic Village Memory Care Unit who provided excellent care to Joyce for the past 8 years, we appreciate the kindness and compassion you showed her and our family through the years.
