Jean E. Rafetto Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jean E. Rafetto, age 96 of Kittanning, passed away on July 20, 2022. Born in Cambridge, MA on December 29, 1925. She was the beloved wife of 71 years to the late Herbert C. Rafetto, Jr.; loving mother of Susan Morgan, Marti (Ed) Kubatko, Judy Jack, all of Kittanning, and the late Herbert Rafetto, III; grandmother of 9; great-grandmother of 10; sister of the late Marshall Gilfoy who died at the age of 2; and daughter of the late Elvin and Aurilla Gilfoy. After high school, Jean attended the Charles Secretarial School in Cambridge, MA. She met her husband in the spring of 1944 and was married during WWII in October 1944. She was the loving mother of 4 children and a great homemaker who always provided a wonderfully cooked family dinner and good conversation each evening. Jean loved to travel all over the world with her husband and they spent winters in Naples, FL. She also enjoyed taking walks and swimming. Jean will be remembered for her positive attitude. Per Jeans wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Memorial donations are suggested to the Kittanning Public Library, 280 N. Jefferson Street, Kittanning, PA 16201. Jean's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Our Family's Home/Ridge at Heritage Meadows and Amedisys Hospice for their excellent care.
