David Phillabaum Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

David Scott Phillabaum Sr., 54, of Greensburg, whose journey began July 16, 1967, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, after a long and mighty battle with cancer. David was preceded in death by his father Gerald Phillabaum, his mother Karen McPhail; his sister Wendy; his partner Lisa and both sets of Grandparents. David always had a love for the outdoors, give him a fishing pole or a hunting rifle and he would happily be outside all day, he was never one to turn down a beer or ten, but only after 12pm because he had standards. He said whatever he was thinking and wasn't afraid to crack a joke at his own or others expenses. Even at the end of his life he was making us laugh. David was a simple guy, a mans-man, he did things his way, he didn't care what anyone thought about it and he would be the first to let you know.. You could usually find him sitting out on his front porch watching the sunset and the deer grazing in his yard, if he wasn't there then he'd be in his house watching NASCAR or the Steelers games while yelling at the T.V., or sitting around his bon-fire with family and a cold beer while singing his favorite songs; we loved to hear him sing. He will always be remembered as the one who made us laugh, the one who always had a tall tale to tell, the protective one, the one who did the best he could with the hand he was dealt, and the one who always did things his way up until his very last breath. David leaves behind two children, Marlana and David Phillabaum Jr., his sisters Cheri (David) Uhlig, Ricki (Rick) Dechicchis and Heidi (Mark) Sterf. He is also survived by his grandson Layne; as well as 8 nieces/nephews and 13 great nieces/nephews including his little sidekick Bradley. Per David's request no service will be held.
