Burrell Brown Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Burrell "Tommy" Thomas Brown III, age 89, of N.E. Washington D.C. passed Tuesday, October 26, 2021, in Monroeville, PA. An avid sportsman, Burrell enjoyed playing and watching golf, basketball and swimming. He thoroughly enjoyed engaging in political discourse; discussing the events of the world and how they affected the community. He appreciated the complexity of King David and how he was still favored by God. Burrell was preceded to life everlasting by his former spouse of 19 years the late Yvonne Maria Kennon Walker; his parents Viola and Burrell Thomas Brown II, and granddaughter Keri Maria Brown. He leaves to mourn his loving children Gregory Burrell (DaNeille) Brown, and Guy William (Kristin) Brown; adoring grandchildren Dana Brown, Summer Smith-Brown, Alex Brown, Serena Brown, Tara Brown, Briana Brown, Kaitlin Marcus, and Lauren Brown; and his cherished great-grandchildren Shawn Brown and Leo Harrison-Smith. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:30am. Location will be at St. Thomas Memorial Episcopal Church, 378 Delaware Ave, Oakmont, PA 15139. Burial with full military honors will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017. In honor of Burrell as a proud HBCU graduate of Lincoln University, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be sent to the Division of Institutional Advancement; Lincoln University, 1570 Baltimore Pike, Lincoln University, PA 19352.
