Bonnie Sue Stariha
February 2, 1937 - August 3, 2021
Bonnie Sue (Nery) Stariha, 84, of Sarver, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 3, 2021. Born February 28, 1937, she grew up in Cheswick, PA and graduated from Springdale High School where she was head majorette. She was the longest survivor of her spouse, John Stariha, siblings Ron and Tom Nery, and her parents, Ronald and Ruth (Hull) Nery. She is survived by five children who were the love her life: Cindy, Ivan, Lisa, and twins, Judy, and Janet. She also enjoyed 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker who doted over her family as well as 4 foster children. When Bonnie was young, she accepted Jesus as her Savior at a Billy Graham Crusade and eagerly shared her faith. Her talents included sewing, painting china, playing the piano and organ, and baking. Bonnie prided herself on her accuracy with her .22 rifle and loved her farm in Clinton Township, Butler County. Alongside her late husband, she taught her children about gardening, canning, butchering cows, and tending gardens. In Bonnie's later years she cherished bottle-feeding lambs and caring for her chickens, sheep, alpacas, and llamas. The family would like to send a special thank you to Brenda Josephs, a treasured retired nurse and aide, adored for her kindness as Bonnie progressed through her last days. There is no public service, rather the family will hold a private ceremony. If you would like to send flowers or cards, please send to Cindy Callen, 535 Heckathorne Road, New Castle, PA 16101 where Bonnie died surrounded by her kids, in the comfort of her daughter's home.
