Patrick J. Berry

PATRICK JOHN BERRY of Pittsburgh and Hallendale Beach, Florida, was born on November 18, 1955, and passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025. Beloved son of the late James and Flora Berry of Pittsburgh. Brother of the late Margaret Matasich (Robert), Edward A. Berry, and Michele Bennett (Robert). Survived by siblings Kathleen Trapana (the late Jack), James Berry (Kimberly), Helen Rauktis (Andrew), Mary T. Berry, Timothy Berry, Daniel Berry, Lenora Berry and Kristina Berry. Patrick was the favorite uncle of Robert Matasich (Jamie), Lisa Mannion (Jack), Jennifer Widge, Jessica Rauktis (Chad), Stephanie Hoehn, James Hoehn, Nicole Florio (Dominick), Nicholas Bennett, Deaven Berry (Melanie), Allison Moore (Cole), Angelina Berry, Ian Berry, Aiden Berry, Colleen Henry (Travis), and Margaret Fulmer. Also, great nieces and nephews Vanessa and Devin Matasich, Emily and Sean Mannion, Cassia and Sophia Widge, Mathew, Mackenzie, Mila and Maci Busby, Luna Rae Florio, and Hudson Moore. Patrick graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown; received his Master's of Education from the University of Pittsburgh; retired from Pittsburgh Public Schools, Homebound Division, after 35 years. Patrick loved his family, friends, traveling, entertaining, and fine dining/cooking. His brownies were to die for! He was always the life of the party; always the one to encourage people to step out of their comfort zones giving them outrageous memories. He was Switzerland; always neutral; non-confrontational; encouraged peace; and always paid it forward. Education was extremely important, and he instilled it in his family. It would be a challenge to find someone with an unkind word about Patrick. He was a true treasure, and he will be missed.
