Pamela "Pam" Lamping

Pamela P. Lamping, lovingly known as Pam, age 72, of Valencia, Pennsylvania, entered into eternal life on June 19, 2026, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family after a courageous battle with ALS. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on March 9, 1954, Pam was the beloved daughter of David and Virginia (Weber) Phillips. She grew up grounded in the Catholic faith that would guide her throughout her life and remain the foundation of her marriage, family, friendships, and service to others. Pam married the love of her life, Paul Lamping, and together they shared 52 years of faithful marriage. Their life together was blessed with three children, eight grandchildren, countless friendships, and a lifetime of treasured memories. Through twelve moves across Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York, Pam transformed every house into a loving home where faith, family, comfort, and hospitality flourished. A graduate of Mt. Alvernia High School, Class of 1972, Pam proudly cheered for her Fighting Lions. While she possessed many talents, she considered her greatest calling to be that of wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was the center of her life, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to creating a home where everyone felt welcomed, loved, and cared for. Once the children were in school, she loved working with her dear friend in the catering business serving lunch to the Pittsburgh Steelers for seven years. She also enjoyed working in retail for Nike. Pam was known for her beautiful smile, gentle spirit, and generous heart. Those who knew her will also remember her quick wit and playful sense of humor. She loved joking with family and friends and had an uncanny ability to make people laugh, even during difficult times. She loved sewing, especially embroidery, and found great joy in cooking meals that gathered family and friends around her table. Holiday dinners became cherished traditions that created lasting memories for generations. Her kitchen door was always open, and no one ever left her home without feeling cared for. Pam was a devoted parishioner who found strength and comfort in the Holy Mass, especially daily Mass. She cherished her friendships within the daily Mass community and drew courage from prayer, the sacraments, and her trust in God's providence. Even throughout her illness, she remained steadfast in faith and became a quiet example of grace, courage, and hope. Pam also had a special love for children and lived her faith through acts of charity and service. She volunteered to help children in need, including providing shoes for disadvantaged students. Family members will fondly remember her familiar reminders, "Just be quiet and do as I say," often followed by her loving reassurance, "You look beautiful." She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Paul Lamping; her loving children, Mandy (Ryan) Merlet, Timothy (Elizabeth) Lamping, and Sarah (Carl) Sockaci; her cherished grandchildren, Mckinley and Luke Merlet, Noah, Emma, and Mary Ellen Lamping, and Oakley, Ruby, and Delia Sockaci; her brother, Morgan (Nancy) Phillips; her sister, Meghan Phillips; and many extended family members, fellow parishioners, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Virginia (Weber) Phillips. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, on August 1, 2026. Burial will follow at Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery, 4629 Bakerstown Road, Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. Family and friends will be received at the church during a visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., immediately prior to the Funeral Mass. A memorial luncheon will be held following the burial beginning at 12:00 p.m.; location to be announced.
