Audrey S. Moeller

Audrey S. Moeller Audrey Suddaby Moeller died peacefully at Longwood at Oakmont on Monday July 10, 2023. Audrey was born on January 28, 1924 in Pittsburgh, PA to John Suddaby and Anna Thompson Suddaby and grew up on Copeland Street in Shadyside. Audrey had two brothers, Arthur John Suddaby and William Eugene Suddaby who both predeceased her. After graduating from Peabody High School, she enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh where she graduated with Honors and a degree in Biochemistry. While at Pitt, Audrey was a member in the Delta Delta Delta sorority and was active in the organization post-graduation. Later in life, she also earned a Masters Degree in Library Science from Pitt. In 1945, she married Dr. Neil Veen is, M.D. who was also from Pittsburgh. Audrey is survived by her four sons, Neil (Susan) Veen is, J. Mark (Stephanie) Veenis, Christopher Veenis and R. Jay (Cindy)Veenis. She is also survived by grandchildren Emily (Nick) Gulden, Tucker (Michelle) Veen is, Courtenay Veen is, Scott Veenis and Drew (Holly) Veenis and is also survived by six great grandchildren, Will, Kate, Carter, Lily, Adolin and Luna. "Gree", as she was named by Tucker, loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren especially when they were babies. She just loved babies! Audrey married John Moeller of Fox Chapel in 1996, and they had an active life together until his death in 2014. At different times in her life, Audrey was a member of the University Club, the Pittsburgh Field Club, Oakmont Country Club and Fox Chapel Golf Club. She really enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and vacationing with her family in Stone Harbor, NJ. She was also a Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan and was there in 1960 when Maz hit the home run that won the World Series. Audrey also enjoyed playing tennis and paddle ball with friends. Audrey was a compassionate and loving person who was beautiful both on the inside and outside. A celebration of Audrey's life will be held on Saturday September 2nd at Christ Church of Fox Chapel, 410 Christ Church Lane, Pittsburgh PA 15238 at 11:00am. A luncheon will be held at the Pittsburgh Field Club following the service. We would like to thank all the great people at Longwood who helped Audrey in her later years and especially the wonderful nurses and other healthcare professionals at Hanna Health Care Center and the caring Bridges Hospice nurses.
