With sadness and peace, we announce the passing of Ann Charlotte Simmons, who departed this life on Aug 12, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on Dec 19, 1944, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Ann lived a life marked by love, strength, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends. She touched the lives of many through her generosity, compassion, and unwavering support for those she loved. Ann was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence filled every room she entered. A force to be reckoned with, she lived life with confidence, determination, and an unforgettable spirit. She found joy in entertaining, being at the lake, and cooking, and had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. Her laughter, wisdom, and caring spirit will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. She loved bringing people together and was happiest when entertaining family and friends, creating countless memories around her table and in her home. She is survived by her husband, Jim, sons Jim and Geoff (Teresa), and daughter Amanda (Paul Cullen), and grandchildren, Paul, Gwen and Annabelle Cullen, and Jack, Gunnar and Maverik Simmons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Annetta Stafford, and only sibling, David J Stafford. Some of her greatest joys were spending summers on Lake Erie at the family cottage in Van Buren Point, where she cherished time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, and the beauty of the lake. She also shared a passion for travel with her husband, exploring new places, embracing new experiences, and creating a lifetime of adventures together. Those who knew her will remember her warmth, generosity, quick wit, and the fierce love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she created, the lives she touched, and the memories that will be treasured forever. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. at Washington Square Condominiums, in the Thurston Room, at 750 Washington Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15228. All are welcome. A Catholic Mass of Intention will be held for Ann St. Mary of the Mount Church, Queen of Peace Parish, 403 Grandview Ave in Mt. Washington, at 10 am on Nov 10, 2026.
