MARILYN L. KUSNISS Age 79 or Harmar Township died peacefully on May 4 2023 following a long illness. Marilyn is the daughter of the late Frank A. and Mary M. Hrach and the beloved wife of the late Joseph (Jody) Kusniss. Marilyn's life was centered on her love for Jody, her family and friends and all of God's Animals. As the owner of "Marilyn's" clothing and accessories shop in Fox Chapel, Marilyn became the friend of many loyal customers who often stopped at the shop just to say hello. Marilyn had many interests and hobbies and always enjoyed volunteering for community organizations. She was a loyal and dedicated "Docent" at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium for many years, often nursing ill or abandoned animals in her home. As a member, and past president, of the Junior Ladies Club in Aspinwall she actively supported the United Way and many local charities by organizing and leading fundraising events. Her love of animals led her to become a 'pet sitter' where she met and cared for many new furry friends, especially her beloved friend "Cinnamon". Marilyn and Jody loved skiing, boating and traveling with their wide circle of friends and family. They were super Steeler and Penguin fans and always loved a good party! Their travels all over the United States and Europe left Marilyn with many wonderful memories. Marilyn is survived by her brother Frank E. Hrach (Marilyn), her sister Joanne Giovannini (Carlo), her sister-in-law Debbie Kearns, niece Susan Hrach (Nick Norwood), nephew Stephen Hrach (April), great-nieces Sarah Georgecink and Phoebe Hrach, and great-nephews Luke and Samuel Georgecink. She also leaves behind many extended family members, several God-children, many special friends and many pets. Visitation at the Thomas M. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, LTD, 930 Center Avenue, Blawnox, PA 15238 will be on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 4 - 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 10:00 am. at Christ the King Parish, St. Edward Church, 450 Walnut St, Blawnox, Pa 15238. Everyone is to meet at church. Internment will follow Mass at St. Mary Cemetery. Please consider honoring Marilyn with a donation to the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh, P.O.
